Maryly and I went to Bolinas to meet a few other BASK members to go surfing in our kayaks. We launched from the end of Brighton Avenue and paddled the short distance north to the "kayak spot". This spot has had an increasing number of board surfers in it lately so I have started calling it the "shallow spot" instead. We didn't spend a long time in the water, but I got quite a few good rides in my Coaster. Maryly had a great day also, and managed to stay inside her sit-inside Looksha kayak. We arrived as the tide was falling and expected the tide to get too low for good kayaking after only a few hours.
When the time came to quit, Maryly slid her kayak along the beach back to Brighton Avenue while I went offshore to paddle back. Far from shore and far from the normal shallow spot, I saw a few large waves break. I figured that there was another not-so-shallow spot that was just getting shallow enough as the tide went out. I tried to position myself on this spot, hoping for one more wild ride all the way to shore. But the waves were elusive and I never managed to catch one in this spot. I had to paddle myself in to the beach for a landing.
