Stuck at Punta los Machos, April 15th 2003.

The west wind blew strong all night long. At 4:30 AM we looked around and declared this a layover day. We went back to bed and slept in late. Then the wind died down at 8:00 AM and we could have launched! But the rough water continued beyond the point for hours delaying thoughts of launching again and again until it was too late to get to our next camp spot. In the calmer afternoon Patrick caught two triggerfish for brunch. We lazed about, reading and fishing. I hiked to the east end of the beach and found a few treasures, including a kilo of soggy marijuana washed up in the gravel. One of my other treasures was a neat little wooden stool that made sitting around camp more comfortable.
