Punta Blanco to Punta Maria, August 22nd 2011.

I lazed around and got a late start, 8:00 AM. It was a nice sunny day without the usual fog of the morning. I passed more rocky points this day where I went in close, more long sandy beaches that I crossed well away from. I cut across from point to point to cut miles of sand out of my trip. When I stopped to make drinking water, two white-sided dolphins jumped around me for a while. Then a panga came over to check me out.

The wind came up around 1:00 PM. I had to fight it to get back into the cove behind Punta Maria. I looked at three beaches and found one that had some shelter from the wind. There were tire tracks all over the beach and I worried that the truck would come back. I went into extreme sand protocol mode to make the tent a sand-free zone on a fine sandy beach. When I say “fine sandy beach”, I mean the sand was made of very small particles, not that I thought the sand was nice.
