The recent BASK general meting had been a slide show about Building Your Own Boat (BYOB). I had been Shanghai'ed into talking about the building of my Baidarka, although most of the talk and slide show was about building wooden boats. Then there was a Bring Your Own Boat (BYOB) day at China Camp where everyone was requested to bring boats that they had made. I had promised Maryly that I would meet her at Bolinas for surfing. However, she also wanted to try out my Baidarka. So I took my Baidarka to BYOB for everyone to try out, and then some of us left early to go surfing at Bolinas.
